Ipamorelin

Small doses need more water.

Ipamorelin doses are usually in the low hundreds of micrograms, which is small enough that the water volume decides whether you can measure it at all on a U-100 barrel.

The science

The measurement problem with microgram doses

01

Ipamorelin is a growth hormone secretagogue sold as a lyophilised powder, commonly in 2, 5 or 10 mg vials. The doses people work with are typically in the 100 to 300 microgram range, which is a hundredth or less of the vial.

02

That ratio creates a practical problem a calculator makes visible. A 10 mg vial reconstituted with 1 ml is 10 mg per ml, so a 200 mcg dose is 0.02 ml, which is 2 units. Two units is the very bottom of a U-100 barrel, where the graduations are wide relative to the volume and any error is proportionally large.

03

Reconstituting the same vial with 3 ml gives 3.33 mg per ml, and the same 200 mcg dose becomes 6 units. Nothing about the dose changed, but the mark moved into a part of the barrel you can actually read. This is why more water is usually the answer when a calculated figure looks awkwardly small.

04

The counterweight is that a diluted vial is used up in fewer doses if you discard it at the end of a storage window, and the solution has to stay within whatever window you are working to. The tradeoff is between measurement accuracy and how long a vial lasts, and it is worth making deliberately rather than by default.

Where a microgram dose lands on the barrel

Because ipamorelin doses are small, thin reconstitutions push them under two units where they cannot be measured. The dots in this table mark exactly those combinations.

A dot marks a combination that falls under two units or overflows a 100-unit barrel. Both are hard to measure accurately, so they are worth avoiding rather than eyeballing.

Regulatory status

No approved label exists for ipamorelin

Ipamorelin is a growth hormone secretagogue that has not been approved for human use by the FDA or comparable regulators. There is no prescribing information, no approved indication and no official dose to cite.

It is prohibited in tested sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which lists growth hormone secretagogues as banned at all times.

The vial sizes and doses in the table reflect what is commonly sold and commonly discussed, not what is established as safe. A calculator can only tell you that a number is arithmetically consistent, which is a much smaller claim than telling you it is a good idea. That second question belongs with a clinician.

FAQ

Common questions

How many units is 200 mcg of ipamorelin?

It depends entirely on the concentration. From a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 ml, the concentration is 2.5 mg per ml and 200 mcg is 8 units. From the same vial with 1 ml of water it is 4 units. The dose is identical in both cases, so a units figure is only meaningful alongside the vial size and water volume it came from.

How much bacteriostatic water should I use for ipamorelin?

Enough to put your dose in a readable part of the barrel, which usually means more than people expect. For a 5 mg vial, 2 to 3 ml keeps typical microgram doses in the 6 to 15 unit range. Reconstituting 5 or 10 mg into 1 ml makes small doses land at two or three units, where accuracy suffers.

Can ipamorelin and CJC-1295 be drawn in the same syringe?

They are frequently sold as a pair and discussed together, but they are separate compounds in separate vials with separate concentrations, so each needs its own conversion. Mixing anything in a syringe is a question for a clinician rather than a calculator. Work out each dose on its own page first so you know what volumes you are dealing with.

Why does the calculator show a dot instead of a number?

That marks a combination falling below two units or overflowing the barrel. Both are measurement problems rather than arithmetic ones. Below two units the graduations on a U-100 syringe are too coarse to draw accurately, and above capacity the dose does not fit. Changing the water volume resolves it.

Is ipamorelin approved for human use?

No. Ipamorelin has not been approved by the FDA or comparable regulators, so there is no official dosing guidance to reference. It is also on the World Anti-Doping Agency prohibited list as a growth hormone secretagogue. The arithmetic here operates on figures you enter and does not imply that an established human dose exists.
